A man is wanted after a stabbing led to a crash crash in Oshawa.
Around 2:30 p.m. on May 7, Durham Regional Police officers responded to a crash near Grandview Street and Ridge Valley Drive, a residential area on the city’s east side.
Police say a grey Mazda forced an SUV off the road and into a fire hydrant before fleeing the scene. The SUV driver had been stabbed and required treatment at a Toronto trauma centre. While his injuries were serious, they were not life-threatening. He is now in stable condition.
Investigators later learned the drivers collided in a nearby parking lot. They believe the drivers got into a fight and the Mazda driver stabbed the SUV driver. They further allege the SUV driver followed the victim from the scene, but the Mazda forced him off the road.
They believe this is an isolated incident and have no public safety concerns.
Sam Nyombi, 28 of Oshawa, is wanted for assault causing bodily harm and assault with a weapon.
