Street MoMo held its grand opening of its Oshawa restaurant February 24 at 19 Simcoe Street South.
The “real food, real taste” of Nepalese and Asian cuisine – courtesy of Chef Rajan – is now open in the city’s downtown and local dignitaries and few lovers of Nepalese, Indian and Thai food were on hand to help him celebrate.
The Oshawa location is the third Chef Rajan has opened since his arrival in Canada a decade ago, following restaurants in Scarborough and Whitby.
Signature dishes include starters like Tom Yum Soup, Mango Salad and Crab Rangoon; several types of momos, from Tandoori to Steamed; popular Indian dishes like Butter Chicken and Paneer Tikka; and vegetable options, such as Aloo Gobhi Masala (florets of cauliflower prepared with potatoes, peas, onions, tomatoes spices and garnished with cashew nuts) and Chan Masala.
Momo, a Nepali word, means ‘dumpling’ in English.
Street MoMo is open 11:30-9:30 Monday to Saturday and 2-9 on Sundays. For more information call (905) 404-9199 or visit https://www.streetmomo.ca/
