String of gunpoint robberies in Toronto result in charges for Whitby man

A Whitby man faces numerous charges following a string of retail robberies in Toronto.
Four businesses in the downtown were hit between October and January according to Toronto Police. In each robbery, police allege a man entered the business while wearing a mask and approached the checkout count posing as a customer. He then pulled a gun and demanded cash and cannabis before running off with the goods.
The Toronto Police Hold-Up Squad tracked down a suspect and arrested him during a raid. They allegedly also discovered a pistol, narcotic drugs, and other evidence.
L’Mar Cecil Greene, 26 of Whitby, faces 24 charges including;
- four counts of robbery with a firearm
- four counts of disguise with intent
- four counts of pointing a firearm
- four counts of weapons dangerous
- three firearm possession charges
- possession of drug for trafficking, and
- four counts of failure to comply with a release order
He appeared in a bail hearing on March 20.
