A Whitby man faces numerous charges following a string of retail robberies in Toronto.

Four businesses in the downtown were hit between October and January according to Toronto Police. In each robbery, police allege a man entered the business while wearing a mask and approached the checkout count posing as a customer. He then pulled a gun and demanded cash and cannabis before running off with the goods.

The Toronto Police Hold-Up Squad tracked down a suspect and arrested him during a raid. They allegedly also discovered a pistol, narcotic drugs, and other evidence.

L’Mar Cecil Greene, 26 of Whitby, faces 24 charges including;

  • four counts of robbery with a firearm
  • four counts of disguise with intent
  • four counts of pointing a firearm
  • four counts of weapons dangerous
  • three firearm possession charges
  • possession of drug for trafficking, and
  • four counts of failure to comply with a release order

He appeared in a bail hearing on March 20.
