Sunflowers are now in bloom across Durham Region and there are some great places to enjoy the cheerful flowers.
“Durham Region is home to some spectacular sunflower farms,” Durham Region Tourism notes on its website.
Visitors can enjoy viewing the sunflowers or take a walk along trails. Some farms offer flower experiences such as yoga, pre-booked family photo sessions, afternoon teas, mazes and even plein air painting sessions.
In addition to flowers, some places have farm stores and markets.
But people should check websites before planning a visit as some farm visits are by appointment only and/or require advanced purchased tickets.
It’s also a good idea to check hours and special events at each farm.
Here is a list of Durham Region farms with sunflowers:
- Bmore Farms (6800 Country Lane, Whitby)
- Bragg Farms (3048 Concession Road 3, Bowmanville)
- Cooper’s CSA Farm (266 Ashworth Rd., Zephyr)
- Maple Grove Orchards (3700 Maple Grove Rd., Clarington)
- Pinedale Patch (1740 Concession 4, Sunderland)
