The suspect in the murder of an Oshawa woman has likely fled the country according to investigators.
According to Durham Police, officers discovered the woman in the Rideau Street and Saguenay Avenue house around 7 a.m on 7. The home sits just northwest of the Bond Street and Park Road intersection downtown in an area full of mid-sized apartment buildings.
They had been called to perform a wellness check and found her when they entered the home. She was not identified at the time, but investigators later confirmed she was Dona Sajan, 29.
Police were unable to track down a man associated with Sajan and the home, Lal Kannampuzha Poulose, 31. They launched a search for Kannampuzha Poulose and his car, a blue Ford Escape with the licence plate CXKZ-784. However, he was not described as a suspect at the time.
However, police issued a Canada-wide warrant for Kannampuzha Poulose on May 16 on a first-degree murder charge. He’s believed to have fled the country and may be living in India.
