Police have identified a suspect in the second groping of the year on a bus leaving Durham College’s Oshawa Campus.

The victim in this case got on the bus shortly before 5 p.m. on Sept. 12, Durham Police say. A man got on the bus after she did and sat next to her. The man tried to engage the victim in conversation.

When the woman got up to leave at her stop, the man allegedly groped her. The woman was able to get off the bus and she called the cops.

On Sept. 27, investigators confirmed they had identified a suspect. They’ve issued an arrest warrant but have yet to take him into custody.

The suspect, Harsimran Singh, 27 of Oshawa, is wanted for sexual assault.

Anyone with information can call police at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5316 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

This is the second man charged with sexual assault on a bus leaving the College. On Aug. 28, a woman was sitting on a bench by the college’s main entrance when a man sat down next to her. The pair spoke and he told her he was a foreign student studying accounting.

This suspect allegedly groped this victim before she got up to get on the bus. Police allege the man followed her on board and tried to sit with her. However, she was able to get away and sit closer to the driver.

Ved Pratikbhai Patel, 19, was later charged with sexual assault and criminal harassment.
