Suspects sought in Oshawa arson investigation

A fire in Oshawa now deemed suspicious has police searching for a potential arsonist after a blaze gutted an unoccupied home.
Durham Police and Oshawa Fire Services responded to a fire on Fernhill Boulevard and Rossland Road West, a residential area just to the northeast of the Oshawa Golf and Curling Club, around 4:30 p.m. April 29.
According to police, the blaze had “engulfed” the home by the time they arrived to support Oshawa Fire. No one was inside the house at the time and police report no injuries.
However, following an investigation the Oshawa Fire Prevention Inspector the fire was deemed suspicious. DRPS has since taken over the case and investigators are calling on the public for help.
They ask anyone with security or dash cam footage of the area at the time of the fire to bring it forward to police.
