A family home in Oshawa erupted into flames over the weekend prompting an arson investigation.

The fire broke out shortly after 5 p.m. on Oct. 5 in a residential area near Eddystone Path and Okanagan Path. The area in the city’s east side sits just off Harmony Road and just north of Highway 401.

Several occupants were in the house when the fire began. All of them were able to evacuate safely and none were hurt.

After Oshawa Fire extinguished the blaze, the Ontario Fire Marshall investigated. They’ve determined the fire was suspicious and police have launched an arson investigation.
