‘Suspicious’ package at Ajax school deemed ‘safe’ -‘Hold and Secure’ lifted

A ‘suspicious’ package found at St. Jude Catholic School in Ajax has been deemed ‘safe’ by Durham Police.

Police had placed a hold-and-secure at the school, as well as nearby Applecroft Public School, until the situation had been investigated.

Police and other first responders were at the Coles Avenue school, located north of Kingston Road near the McLean’s Community Centre, conducting the investigation before they declared the package not dangerous.
