Six nights in Toronto this November is clearly not enough for Taylor Swift fans, with tickets on conventional platforms selling out months ago and re-sale ticket prices approaching Toronto mortgage levels.
But local fans of the mega pop star can Shake It Off and get their Swift fix in at a tribute show November 22 at the Biltmore Theatre in Oshawa, with tickets a far more reasonable $33.90.
The Biltmore show, with music performed by Katy Ellis, will be the same night as a show by Taylor Swift herself at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, the fifth of six concerts at the venue, and will ensure Swifties don’t have a Blank Space on their social calendar that evening.
For those fans who tried and failed to get tickets to one of the shows at the Rogers Centre, the Biltmore tribute show is a Love Story and good Karma all ‘round, as they will be treated to music covering all eras of Swift’s music, from early country twang to her current pop music influenced voice.
The show will also feature a collection of replica costumes from all of the pop star’s tours, professional choreography and a crack team of band members and dancers, making the event an ultimate Taylor Swift tribute.
The Taylor Swift Tribute by Katy Ellis, presented by Forrest Joes Entertainment, has been performed around the world, with the Biltmore Theatre excited to present the show in downtown Oshawa.
“Our wildest dreams have come true,” the Biltmore said on social media. “Join us in a night of singing, dancing and friendship bracelet trading. Let’s make the whole place shimmer.”
Doors open for the all ages show is 7 p.m. For tickets visit tickets.biltmoretheatre.com/taylorswifttribute
Ellis, who has been in the business for a decade, said it has been an honour taking on the tribute role. “Impersonating such a strong female icon as Taylor Swift is really a dream come true and I work hard to make sure that it is complimenting Taylor Swift as much as I can. I want the audience to feel like they are at a real Taylor Swift Show.”
