Teen driver rolls car in Highway 12 crash in Scugog, charged with impaired

A 17-year-old novice driver has been charged with impaired driving after rolling his car off Highway 12 in Scugog Township.

The OPP Highway Safety Division announced the crash at 9:30 p.m March 13 via Twitter and Facebook.

The driver had been travelling on Highway 12 that evening when he left the roadway, and rolled his vehicle several times. The car came to a rest upside down in a nearby field.

The 17-year-old with a G2 license was arrested and charged with impaired driving and possession of cannabis. The youth’s licence was also suspended for 90 days.
