A new teen driver lost their licence after a vehicle was clocked travelling more than double the speed limit in Brooklin.
A driver was stopped after police measured a speed of 124 km/h on Baldwin Street in Brooklin, north of Whitby, OPP said in a post on X Monday (July 15) night.
This portion of Baldwin Street is a Community Safety Zone with a speed limit of 50 km/h, police said.
A 16-year-old driver who had just got their G2 licence earlier in the day received a 30-day licence suspension and a 14-day vehicle impoundment, police said.
“Driving is a privilege not a right,” OPP said.
