An 18-year-old from Toronto was arrested in Ajax yesterday after allegedly trying to sell a fake cell phone and fleeing the scene dangerously when he scheme was found out.

The seller had arranged to meet the buyer near Salem Rd. and Taunton Rd. on Aug. 14. When the phone was revealed as a fake, a fight broke out between the two groups. Police were called at this point but by the time they arrived, the seller had taken off in his car.

However, officers were able to stop the car and arrest the seller. They charged him with fraud under $5,000, possession of criminal proceeds and dangerous driving. He was later released with conditions.
