Two teenagers are facing charges after a youth was threatened with a knife in Bowmanville last week.
Durham Regional Police responded to an armed person call near Clarington Boulevard and Stevens Road on Nov. 5 at 2:20 p.m.
The victim was walking when he was approached by two teens in a vehicle who made threats with a knife, police said. The teen who was threatened fled and called police.
The culprits were gone before police arrived.
Nearby Clarington Central Secondary School was briefly placed in partial lockdown, or hold-and-secure mode, as police searched the area for the two teens in the car.
The victim did not sustain any physical injuries.
Further investigation linked this incident to a previous altercation allegedly involving the same two teens, police said. Arrests were made a short time later.
A 16-year-old and a 17-year-old, both Clarington residents, are charged with uttering threats. They were released on a promise to appear in court.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Det. Gordon of the East Division Criminal Investigations Branch at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 1615.
