Thefts from Oshawa community centre prompts search for suspect

Police are trying to identify a man they believe has broken into several lockers at an Oshawa community centre.

Durham Regional Police reported the man entered the Delpark Community Centre at 1161 Harmony Rd on Aug. 26. He went into the locker room, police allege, and broke the locks off multiple lockers. He allegedly took several items from the lockers including bank cards which were later used at stores throughout Durham Region.

On Aug. 28 police released photos of a suspect gathered from store security cameras. They describe the suspect as a 35 to 45-year-old Black man who stands 5-foot-11 and weighs about 250 pounds. He wears black hair in cornrows and a beard. He had on a light blue Nike hooded sweater, light blue jogging pants and white running shoes.
