‘There is no way’: Whitby woman pulls $100,000 scratch ticket

A Whitby woman is $100,000 richer after a lucky pick of a scratcher ticket.

The self-employed Carolyn Salazar, as a long-time fan of Instant Scratchers, picked up an Instant Bingo Doubler from the Whitby Plaza Convenience on Brock St. in Whitby.

“I was at home having a cup of tea and playing my ticket when I revealed a box… I thought ‘There is no way,” she told the OLG. “I was so shocked and wondered if it was real at first. My husband checked the ticket on the OLG app and even then, I didn’t think it was real. It’s been an exciting few days and a really emotional journey.”

Salazar plans to put the funds toward her retirement and put some work in around her house, but she’s going to have a bit of fun too.

“This win will help fund some travel adventures,” she said.
