August 23

Pickering:

Movies Under the Stars

Bring your comfiest chair, coziest blanket, and bug spray for a perfect night under the stars at Rick Johnson Memorial Park. Feel free to pack snacks, but note that alcohol, drugs, and smoking are prohibited on City property.

The night will kick off with a visit from Elsa and face painting for the kids.

Ajax: 

Fantasy Worlds

The three-day Fantasy Worlds portrait studio photography event invites kids aged 0-10 and dreamers of all ages to embark on a magical journey. Imagine your little ones transformed into brave knights, whimsical fairies, or adventurous pirates, all set against stunning virtual fantasy-themed backgrounds.

Whitby:

Summer Mobile Food Market

Community Care Durham is hosting a Summer Mobile Food Market at 55+ Recreation Centre. The market will offer fruits and vegetables from local growers at reasonable prices. This initiative aims to provide access to fresh produce while supporting local agriculture.

Oshawa:

Kars on King

The event will bring hundreds of classic vehicles to the streets of downtown Oshawa and will showcase over 400 classic vehicles, with makes and models dating back to 1991 and older.

Live entertainment on the main stage will keep attendees entertained as they admire unique vehicle craftsmanship and custom modifications. The event also features a Family Zone with crafts, inflatables, community attractions and more.

Pickering Pre Fall Bazaar

Masjid Al Aqsaa’s 11th Annual BBQ

This family-friendly event will include a bouncy castle, henna and face painting, bazaar stalls, popcorn, BBQ station, games, and prizes.

Whitby:

August’s Rising Makers Pop-up Market

This pop-up market at the Marker’s Hub showcases the talents of local makers aged 6-17. Visitors can discover a collective of creative artists and budding entrepreneurs. The market is free to attend, accessible and pet-friendly.
