Thirty new COVID-19 cases in Durham; eight each in Whitby and Oshawa

New COVID-19 cases in Durham Region climbed slightly to 30 Wednesday, down from the seven-day average in Durham of 37.

Oshawa and Whitby both reported eight new cases of the virus. Ajax, which was responsible for 10 new cases Tuesday, reported just two on Wednesday. Clarington (5), Pickering (4) and – somewhat surprisingly – Brock (3), reported the rest.

The number of total active cases in Durham is 197 and there are eight people in hospital, with three in ICU.

Total number of Delta variant cases since it was first reported in the Region stands at 457.
