Three men from Quebec were arrested in what police described as a “suspicious car” at the Clarington ONroute

A Durham Regional Police officer spotted the Cadillac SUV without licence plates at the rest area on Hwy. 401 shortly before 4 a.m. on Feb. 4. The officer’s investigation found none of the three men in the vehicle owned it and, police say, the trio had car theft tools on them.

Adjinwa Fochine, 19, is charged with possession of an automobile master key, obstruction of a peace officer, and three counts of failure to comply with a release order. Mohamed Souwmahoro, 18, is charged with possessing an automobile master key, obstruction of a peace officer, and failure to comply with a release order. Johan Ramirez, 21, is charged with possession of an automobile master key.

All three men are from Quebec. However, police did not specify where in the province they hailed from. Fochine and Souwmahoro remain in custody until a bail hearing. Ramirez has been released.
