Three guns and drugs seized in Ajax lead to arrest of three men

The police seizure of three guns and drugs in Ajax has led to the arrest of three men.

The Durham Regional Police Guns and Gangs Unit wrapped an investigation on December 3. As a result, three men were arrested in a stolen car near Lankester Ln. and Janes Ln., home to a townhouse complex. The officers found two pistols in the car.

Later on, officers raided a locker and another car associated with one of the men. They found a third handgun, ammunition, cocaine and fentanyl.

Hamza Tariq, 27, of Ajax, faces 14 charges including; two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a loaded prohibited/restricted firearm, possession of a firearm obtained by crime, two counts of possession of a schedule I substance for trafficking and possession of a restricted firearm while knowingly unauthorized.

Devaine Nelson, 30, of Pickering, is facing 8 charges including; unauthorized possession of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a prohibited device and possession of a loaded prohibited/restricted firearm.

Finally, Cyril Scott, 36, of Toronto is up on five charges including unauthorized possession of a firearm and possession of a loaded prohibited/restricted firearm.

All three men will remain in custody until a bail hearing.
