Three wanted in gunpoint robbery of Whitby grocery store

Three unidentified me remain at large following the gunpoint robbery of a Whitby grocery store.

The trio stormed the Wild Fork grocery store in Taunton Gardens Plaza shortly after 9 p.m. on Aug. 7. The American chain, which specializes in frozen gourmet meats, is in the midst of a Canadian expansion. It opened its first location in the country in Whitby on June 10.

All three robbers wore masks and gloves while one was armed with a pistol. They demanded cash from employees and fled before Durham Regional Police could respond. No one was harmed in the robbery.

Investigators are calling on any witnesses to come forward, especially those with any video footage.
