Toronto firearms investigation leads to charges for Ajax man, four others

An Ajax man is one of five people facing numerous charges in connection with a firearms investigation in Toronto.

The investigation into the illegal possession of firearms resulted in a search warrant for a home and vehicle in Toronto and as a result police were able to seize two loaded handguns and a loaded assault rifle.

On Tuesday, September 3, 2024, Toronto police arrested three adults and one youth in the Kennedy Road and Lawrence Avenue area.

Trayvon Reid, 23, of Ajax, was arrested and charged with:

  1. Possession of a Loaded Firearm
  2. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  3. Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  4. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
  5. Possession of a Firearm Obtained by Crime
  6. Careless Storage of a Firearm
  7. Possession of a Prohibited Device
  8. two counts of Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order
  9. Fail to Comply with Probation

Reid was scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre on Wednesday, September 4, 2024.

Jushaii Reid, 21, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

  1. Possession of a Loaded Firearm
  2. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  3. Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  4. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
  5. Possession of a Firearm Obtained by Crime
  6. Careless Storage of a Firearm
  7. Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order
  8. Possession of a Prohibited Device

Justice Townsend, 21, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

  1. Possession of a Loaded Firearm
  2. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  3. Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  4. Possession of a Prohibited Device
  5. Careless Storage of a Firearm
  6. Carrying a Concealed Weapon

Trayvon Reid, 23, of Ajax, was arrested and charged with:

  1. Possession of a Loaded Firearm
  2. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  3. Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  4. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
  5. Possession of a Firearm Obtained by Crime
  6. Careless Storage of a Firearm
  7. Possession of a Prohibited Device
  8. two counts of Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order
  9. Fail to Comply with Probation

A Youth was arrested and charged with:

  1. Possession of a Loaded Firearm
  2. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  3. Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  4. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
  5. Careless Storage of a Firearm
  6. Possession of a Prohibited Device
  7. Possession of a Firearm Obtained by Crime

All four were scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre on Wednesday, September 4, 2024.

On Wednesday, September 4, 2024, a fourth adult was also arrested in relation to the investigation.

Dumari Ewart, 24, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

  1. Possession of a Loaded Firearm
  2. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  3. Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  4. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
  5. Possession of a Firearm Obtained by Crime
  6. Careless Storage of a Firearm
  7. Possession of a Prohibited Device
  8. Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order
  9. Fail to Comply with Probation

He was scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre on Thursday, September 5, 2024.
