Toronto man with illegal radar detector charged in Oshawa

A Toronto man is facing multiple Highway Traffic Act offences after he was stopping in north Oshawa driving a car with fake plates, no insurance and with an illegal radar detector.

Police say they were responding to a “service” call near Harmony and Taunton roads where a suspect had left the scene. The vehicle was quickly located and a subsequent inspection discovered the infractions.

The man, 52, is looking at four different charges and the vehicle was removed from the road.
