Trent University has added 39 new transfer agreements with community colleges in Ontario, including a pathway from Durham College’s Child and Youth Care Advanced Diploma program to a degree in Child & Youth Studies at the Trent Durham campus in Oshawa.

The new agreements are in addition to more than 200 existing diploma-to-degree pathways designed to accelerate the process for college graduates to earn their bachelor’s degree at Trent.

“Every student has their own unique educational path, and we know that thousands of students who start their journeys at college go on to pursue a bachelor’s degree, and sometimes even graduate degrees,” said Dr. Scott Henderson, Trent Durham GTA vice-president. “To recognize and support these ambitions, Trent works closely with colleges across the province to build standardized transfer pathways that help students get the best of both learning environments. These new agreements make the process of transferring credits as simple as possible for students and ensure they get a head start on their degree and maintain momentum towards their career.”

The new pathways include agreements with Fanshawe (London) Georgian (Barrie) and St. Clair College (Windsor).

The designated pathways help standardize the transfer process and maximize credits transferred and allow many students – starting as early as January – to choose their preferred campus at either the main campus in Peterborough or the Trent Durham campus in Oshawa.
