Truck fire injures four at Pickering waste facility

Four workers were injured after a truck exploded at a Pickering waste facility.
Durham Police confirmed they got a call about an explosion at the GFL Environmental Inc. at 1070 Toy Ave shortly after 2:30 p.m. on April 30. The facility sits near Highway 401 and Brock Road.
Four men were injured in the blaze, three of whom were taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor burns. The Ministry of Labour has been informed for a possible investigation.
The cause of the fire remains unknown.
