Twenty-one new COVID cases in Durham – seven each from Clarington and Oshawa

The outbreak at a rural Clarington elementary school has now spread to 16 children, while the number of new cases of COVID-19 in Durham remained steady at 22.
Clarington and Oshawa each reported seven new cases Monday. There are a total of 183 active cases in Durham with four residents in hospital.
There is one institutional outbreak and two ongoing workplace outbreaks in the region. The number of school and daycare outbreaks is 13 – one down from yesterday – but the number of kids home self-isolating has risen to 33, with half from Enniskillen Public School, which is closed to in-class learning.
The vaccination rate for Durham’s 12-plus population is now 84.2 per cent.
