Two men from Ajax have been arrested in Northern Ontario on drug trafficking charges.

Manitoulin OPP officers were on patrol in the Township of Sables-Spanish Rivers around 10:30 p.m. on November 12. The small town sits five hours north of Ajax on the Trans Canada Hwy just above Lake Huron.

As the officers patrolled down the Trans Canada Hwy, they spotted a car speeding down the road. The cops pulled the car over. When they went up to talk to the driver, they spotted what they believed to be drugs in the car.

They arrested both of the men in the car and seized suspected fentanyl, cocaine and cannabis. Additionally, the officers say they found $6,000 cash, six cell phones, three Katana-style blades, a smaller knife, a weighing scale, bolt cutters and various drug paraphernalia.

Rashawn Alim King, 21, and Tylan Joseph Fante-Colman, 18, both of Ajax, are charged with;

  • possession of an opiate with intent to traffic,
  • possession of cocaine with intent to traffic,
  • possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose,
  • possession of property obtained by crime,
  • possession of cannabis with intent to distribute and
  • possession of more than 30 grams of cannabis.

Both are set to appear in a Espanola courtroom on December 5.
