Two arrested, power tools seized in Oshawa police raid

A police search warrant executed in Oshawa yesterday resulted in two arrests and officers seizing power tools, crystal meth and cash, according to Durham Regional Police.

Investigators with the DRPS Property Crimes Unit executed the search warrant on February 3, as part of an investigation that began in January. Police allege the suspects went to several hardware stores throughout the GTA and stole numerous power tools to sell them online.

During their raid, police say they discovered over $5000 worth of DeWalt power tools, cash and crystal methamphetamine from the Lakeview Avenue home.

Lisa Evegroen, 43 of Oshawa, faces 25 Criminal Code charges including; theft under $5,000, possession under $5,000, possession of schedule I substance and numerous counts of failure to comply with OIC undertaking.

Paul Sladeczek, 47 of Oshawa, is charged with 19 Criminal Code offences including; theft under $5,000, possession under $5,000, possession of schedule I substance and numerous counts of failure to comply with release order.

Both will remain in custody until a bail hearing.
