Clarington continues to take the brunt of the school bus driver shortage, likely made worse by the major snow storm expected to hit the region this evening, with two dozen routes cancelled Friday morning.

Thirteen schools are affected, including Duke of Cambridge in Bowmanville, whose students make up part or all of eight routes not running this morning. Other schools are St. Joseph, Bowmanville High, St. Stephen High, Hampton Junior and Senior, The Pines and Clarke High, Good Shepherd, Lydia Trull, Newcastle, Vincent Massey and St. Francis of Assisi.

Four routes in Port Perry and another four in Brock Township have been cancelled as well, affecting Port Perry High, Good Shepherd and RH Cornish (Port Perry); and Thorah Central and Brock High in Beaverton and Cannington, respectively.

Pine Ridge High (AM only) and St. Isaac Jogues in Pickering and Bolton Falby (PM only) in Ajax will also see cancelled routes Friday.

The majority of the cancelled routes are provided by First Student but Century Transport has cancelled eight routes in Port Perry and Clarington while Stock Transport has cancelled four routes in Brock Township.
