Two drivers were seriously injured Wednesday morning after a crash in Uxbridge.

Around 11 a.m. August 31 two cars collided head-on at the intersection of Ashworth Rd and Concession Rd 4. One of the involved cars, a Chevy Cruze driven by a 21-year-old man, was driving east down Ashworth Rd when he and a Honda Civic driven by a 44-year-old man crashed head on.

The driver of the Civic was airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre while the driver of the Cruze was taken to a local hospital. The Cruze driver was later transferred again to a Toronto trauma centre. Both suffered serious injuries in the crash.

Durham Regional Police Collision Investigation officers responded to the crash site shortly thereafter and locked down the intersection for several hours. The investigation remains ongoing. DRPS is asking any witness who have not spoken to investigators to come forward.
