Two in custody after fleeing Ajax bar brawl and crashing into police car

Two men from Pickering were arrested after fleeing the scene of a bar fight and crashing into a police cruiser as they drove away.

Police were called to the Elevation Lounge on Westney Road in Ajax around 1:30 in the morning on November 17 regarding a “large fight.”

Police say when they arrived, two suspects bolted from the bar and into a 2016 Mercedes in which they attempted to leave the area.

According to police, the two did not stop for officers when ordered, and ended up driving into a cruiser trying to stop them.

The Mercedes finally stopped when the airbags deployed. The driver and his passenger were then arrested.

The driver, a 22-year-old from Pickering is charged dangerous operation, fleeing police, impaired driving, driving with blood alcohol above zero as a novice driver and exceeding alcohol limit.
