Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) were at the scene of a multiple victim shooting that happened at a bar overnight in north Oshawa.

Police say they arrived at ‘The BLVD’ restaurant at 1812 Simcoe St. North around 12:45 a.m. after receiving reports of gun shots fired in the area.

Five victims were located at the scene, all suffering from gunshot wounds.

One male was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

A second male was taken to a Toronto Trauma Centre in critical condition and later succumbed to his injuries.

The other three victims were taken to hospital where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say they are speaking with witnesses and will release a suspect description shortly.

The DRPS Homicide Unit has taken charge of this investigation and is appealing to witnesses in the area at the time to come forward.

“Our hearts and prayers go out to tonight’s victims and their families,” The BLVD restaurant said in a story post on their social media. “Thank you to everyone who has reached out, we are all safe.”
