Two men from Quebec have been charged with possession of numerous counterfeit IDs in Oshawa

Two men are facing fraud charges after a traffic stop in Oshawa.
In a media release from today, Durham authorities noted that yesterday (Sept 3) at around 6 pm, an active patrol near Stevenson Road South and Gibb Street stopped a vehicle for a Highway Traffic Act violation.
Durham Regional Police indicated that the driver refused to identify himself during the investigation.
The driver and the male passenger of the vehicle were then detained where it was then revealed that they were in possession of numerous counterfeit identification documents.
The two men, a 24-year-old and a 29-year-old from Quebec were hit with multiple charges, which included:
- Two counts of Possession of a Forged Passport, nine counts of Possess of Identify Documents and three counts of Possession of Identity Information with Inference of Fraud. (24-year-old)
- One count of Possession of a Forged Passport, 10 counts of Possess Identify Documents, three counts of Possession of Identity Information with Inference of Fraud and two counts of Possession of a Credit Card. (29-year-old)
Both men have been held for a bail hearing.
Durham Regional officers have urged residents with information on these two suspects to contact local authorities.
