A motorcyclist and his rider are in life-threatening condition after an Ajax crash involving two other vehicles.

The pair were riding west on Kingston Rd. shortly before 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 16. Durham Regional Police say, the bike rear-ended a car near the intersection with  George Jones St. in the town’s Pickering Village area.

The collision sent the car into the eastbound lane where it struck another car. Neither of the drivers in the cars were hurt and stayed on scene. However, the motorcyclist and the rider had to be rushed to hospital. Investigators did not specify if the men had stabilized by the time of their release on Sept. 18.

Police soon responded to the crash and the Collision Investigation Unit shut down the road for several hours.  No one has been charged in the collision.

Anyone with information about the crash can call police at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5255 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
