Two suspects are on the lam after a jewelry store heist in Pickering yesterday.
The pair arrived at Garo Jewellers at 1792 Liverpool Road shortly before 6 p.m. on Aug. 1, according to Durham Police. The store is inside a Loblaws grocery store that contains multiple other businesses including a doctor’s office, a gym and a sports store among others.
When the pair reached the jeweller, which opens out to the Loblaws, they allegedly pulled a knife on the owner. Police say the pair then stole a “large amount” of jewelry, but they did not provide a value estimate. The pair then fled the scene in a grey Honda CRV.
Police describe the first suspect as a 20 to 30-year-old, six-foot-tall Brown man. They described the second as a 20 to 30-year-old, six-foot-tall Black man.
