We’re heading into the first week of November, but temperatures this week in Oshawa and Durham Region will feel more like late summer/early fall with record temperatures (for the last dozen years, anyway) expected.

The forecast calls for 11 degrees Celsius and scattered showers on Halloween Monday, with a 30 per cent chance for rain during the day on Tuesday as temperatures spike to 17 C. The record temperature for southern Durham since 2010 for the first week of November was 15.3 C, set in 2012.

We’ll start to see sunshine and temperatures that continue to be well above seasonal from Tuesday onwards. Wednesday will be 15 and sunny Thursday 17 and Friday and Saturday a positively balmy 18 with a mix of sun and cloud. Sunday will be cloudy but still unseasonably warm at 18 C.

With similar temperatures in north Durham, the region will also be unseasonably warm, especially where the record high (from 2010) for the beginning of November from the Uxbridge weather station is just 12.9 C.
