UPDATE: Arrest made in stabbing of senior at Whitby hotel

Durham Police investigators have charged a 27 year-old Clarington man in connection to a stabbing on Thursday afternoon that left a 78 year-old man clinging to life.
Central West officers responded to a stabbing call at the Motel 6 on Consumers Drive in Whitby just after 3 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
Police say the suspect approached the victim and stabbed him before taking his personal property and fleeing. The victim was taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.
Investigators were able to locate the suspect and he was arrested nearby.
Dale Wyatt is charged with aggravated assault; assault with a weapon; robbery; weapons dangerous and four counts of fail to comply with release order. He was held for a bail hearing.
