Lakeshore East GO service will be shut down at least until Thursday for a Ministry of Labour investigation into a fatal accident Saturday evening at the Rouge Hill bridge.

Durham Police said a 41 year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene after being pinned under a rail car. He was part of a team that was conducting construction and maintenance work on behalf of Go Transit operator Metrolinx at the 117-year-old bridge.

Service on the Lakeshore East line had been suspended over the weekend while the repair work was being conducted.
