Updated: 2 injured in a large house fire in Oshawa

Update 2:00 p.m: Durham Regional Police have shared a few additional details about the fire. Investigators say the blaze erupted at 513 Bloor St. near Wilson Rd. Multiple people were inside when the fire began but all were able to escape. The Ontario Fire Marshall is still investigating the blaze and has not yet identified the cause.

Two people were injured in a large house fire in Oshawa this morning.

The fire broke out at a home in the area of Wilson Road and Bloor Street, Oshawa Fire Services said in a tweet just after 6 a.m. today.

Two adults reportedly suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Photos from the scene show a badly damaged home.

Durham Regional Police said Bloor Street between Wilson Road and Ritson Road was closed.

Oshawa Fire asked people to avoid the area.
