If the urge to hang out with a herd of cows, a flock of chickens and ducks, horses and donkeys in the Uxbridge countryside appeals to you then Farmhouse Garden Animal Home has just the thing.

The animal sanctuary is hosting its seventh birthday party Saturday and you’re invited to help celebrate seven years of bringing neglected and unwanted animals to their forever home.

Perhaps you may even get a celebratory kiss from one of the animal residents.

Tickets are $10 (kids 5 and under free) with all proceeds raised during the fundraiser will be used to cover animal care costs, including food, bedding, and veterinary services.

“It’s so heartwarming to think of all of the animals who have made the sanctuary their home in the last seven years. There’s something really special about spending time with them and knowing they will

always be loved and cared for.” says Edith Barabash, the Executive Director of Farmhouse Garden Animal Home. “Fundraisers such as this one allows us to continue our rescue work, and also give visitors an experience they will always remember.”

The event will run from 2-4 p.m. and will feature a plant-based BBQ, bake sale, pre-made veggie boxes to feed the animals, and more.

Farmhouse Garden Animal Home began rescuing animals when farmer Mike Lanigan decided that he could no longer send the animals on his farm to slaughter. It has been a place of refuge and compassion for animals ever since, giving them a chance to live safe, happy lives.

The sanctuary is located on Scugog Line 12 in Uxbridge.
