With COVID-19 case numbers rising in parts of the province and vaccination rates still below the desired 90 per cent mark, health officials are still encouraging the unvaccinated and those who are not fully vaccinated to get the shot.
You can still book appointments at pharmacies and through the Durham Health portal but there are mobile clinics around the region where no appointment is necessary, including four today.
The Rick MacLeish Memorial Community Centre in Cannington (parking lot) is hosting a clinic today from 10 am to 6 pm for all those 12 and up (including those turning 12 this year). This clinic is part of the GO-VAXX program and is offering the Pfizer vaccine.
For those who live on Durham’s eastern edge, there is also a clinic at the Kendal Community Centre in Clarington from 2 pm to 7 pm. The same qualifications apply and both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines will be available.
Mass vaccination clinics at Audley Recreation in Ajax and the Campus Ice Centre at Ontario Tech University in Oshawa are also operating today. Both clinics will be open from 9:30 am to 6 pm. As with all today’s clinics, no appointment is necessary.
The mass vaccination clinics in Ajax and Oshawa will also be open this Friday and Saturday from 9:30 am to 6 pm.
