The OPP reported the collision around 4:30 p.m., stating it happened along Highway 401 East at Stevenson Road.

The accident led to the closure of the right lane and off-ramp lanes to motorists, prompting officers to begin investigations.

Officials have not confirmed the number of occupants in the vehicle at the time of the incident, their injuries, or whether there were any fatalities.

At around 6:30 p.m., the OPP provided an update on the crash, saying that the SIU had taken over the investigations.

The SIU has not released further details regarding the crash.

The roadways are still closed, and authorities have not given an estimated time for the reopening of the lanes and off-ramps to the public.

Drivers are advised to use alternate routes.
