VIDEO: Shooting in Markham leads to charges for Ajax man, three suspects still at large

An Ajax man has been charged in connection to a shooting in Markham while two more suspects remain at large.
Gunfire erupted near Kirkham and New Delhi Drives shortly before 4 a.m. on March 10. The area is a commercial zone home to a large strip mall and a Home Depot. When York Regional Police arrived they found a man suffering from a non-fatal gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital.
Toronto Police helped their York counterparts identify a suspect; Roshvin Crofton, 22 of Ajax. They raided Crofton’s home on April 25 with back up from the Durham Police Tactical Support Unit.
Crofton is charged with several offences including;
- Pointing a firearm
- Robbery with a firearm
- Aggravated assault
- Assault with a weapon
- Motor vehicle theft, and
- possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
The following day, investigators announced Crofton’s arrest. At the same time, they released a security video from an area business showing Crofton and three other unidentified men entering.
