The Oshawa waterfront is set to get a 30-storey, nearly 700-unit condo tower.

The community, called Nahid Harbour, is currently in the preproduction phase. It is set to be the first tower built on the Oshawa Harbour. In total, the development will feature four towers of various heights with a total of 1,414 units.

The building will sit at 80 Harbour Rd. just off Simcoe St. by the Oshawa Marina. The lot is currently empty and occupied by grassland.

“Nahid Harbour Condo project will be Oshawa’s newest pinnacle landmark,” developer Nahid claims, “It will offer the ultimate waterfront living experience for all its occupants.”

The first tower features a podium which starts at 10 stories and narrows as it rises to 16. From there the core tower will rise 30 stories.

“As an extended tract of undeveloped land by the water’s edge, it represents a significant opportunity for the City of Oshawa to create a vibrant waterfront,” described GTA Homes.

There are also numerous parks around the area. However as the zone hasn’t been built up much, it is very car dependant with a walkability score of 14/100.

The building is still in preconstruction and there is no construction start date.
