Weapons, and drugs seized after impaired arrest in Whitby

Durham Regional Police seized numerous drugs and weapons from a vehicle after pulling over a 30-year-old Ajax man for allegedly driving impaired in Whitby.

Police initiated a traffic stop around 2:40 a.m. on Sunday (Oct. 6) near Brock Street South And Arthur Street.

“While speaking to the driver, officers observed signs of impairment,” allege Durham police. “The driver was taken into custody for impaired operation without incident.”

Police say during a search of the vehicle they discovered a replica firearm, a prohibited spring-loaded knife, and a quantity of drugs.

Deshaun Delano Goss, 30, of Ajax, has been charged with:

  • Impaired operation, possess schedule I substance for trafficking (cocaine), and possess
  • Prohibited/restricted weapon

Goss was held for a bail hearing.
