For those who love meat-packed platters, saucy wraps, and fries piled high with a mix of hummus, garlic sauce, and tahini, a popular shawarma spot is getting ready to serve it all at its latest location in Oshawa.

Lazeez Shawarma is coming soon to the plaza at 2620 Simcoe St. N., inside Unit #6, a space formerly occupied by Heritage Shawarma. The Google listing for Heritage Shawarma now reads “temporarily closed,” and new Lazeez signage has already gone up on the storefront.

Founded in Mississauga in 2013, Lazeez has grown into a go-to destination for fast, flavourful Middle Eastern eats. Their menu offers a wide range of choices, including:

  • Shawarma wraps (chicken, beef, mixed, falafel, or kofta) in regular or large sizes
  • Platters with rice or fries, grilled meats, salad and warm pita
  • Signature options like “on the rocks” (over rice), “on the sticks” (over fries), and Half/Half combinations
  • Philly-style sandwiches, yalla bowls and mixed grill plates

Meals can be customized with toppings like lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onions, or upgraded with extras like feta, hummus, tzatziki, or sweet donair sauce.

Vegetarian options include falafel wraps, lentil soup, tabbouleh, baba ghanoush and a variety of fresh salads.

For those with a sweet tooth, baklava and brownies are also on the menu.

Prices range from $10 to $20 per person, with add-ons, sides and combos available.

While a grand opening date hasn’t been announced, construction appears to be well underway. In the meantime, those craving their usual fix can still head to Oshawa’s other location at 1812 Simcoe St. N.
