Whitby cancels garbage collection after heavy snow, moves pickup date

The Town of Whitby has cancelled all garbage collection on Monday January 17 after heavy snowfall blanketed Durham Region.

Neither wet garbage or recycling will be picked up on Monday.  The recycling schedule has been bumped ahead one day from usual, so residents will have to put the blue bins out one day early.

Residents who have their green bins picked up on Monday, will have their pick up day moved to this Saturday, January 22 instead. Residents who have their trash picked up Tuesday to Friday will have their garbage collected as normal.
