Whitby couple accused of defrauding multiple Home Depot locations in Durham

A Whitby couple has been charged after allegedly committing multiple fraud incidents at various Home Depot locations across the Durham Region.

Durham police say that on Jan. 1, investigators were told that two suspects had allegedly defrauded Home Depot locations in Ajax, Pickering, Whitby and Clarington on seven locations beginning in July 2023. According to police, the suspects would allegedly buy an item and then return to the store with a receipt and leave with similar stolen items.

Police also allege the suspects would switch price tags on items.

Investigators say Khutaja Revuru, 53, and Krishna Revuru, 50, are facing 28 charges, including theft under $5,000, fraud under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime.

They were released on an undertaking.

The charges have not been proven in court.
