A man from Whitby faces charges after a traffic stop on Hwy 401 in Trenton.

The man was heading east toward Glen Miller Rd. around 10 p.m. on November 2 when OPP officers caught sight of him. The officer clocked him speeding at 158 km/h in the 100 km/h zone. Trenton is about an hour east of Whitby along Hwy 401.

After the officers became suspicious the man was impaired, they made him take a breathalyzer test and ultimately arrested the driver due to the test. The officers brought the man into the Quinte West OPP headquarters, a little over five minutes away into town on Dixon Dr.

A second alcohol test, this time on the man’s blood, determined his blood-alcohol content (BAC) was “well above the legal limit,” police claim.

As a result, Brandon Hrazdira, 29 of Whitby, has been charged with impaired driving, driving with a BAC over .08 and stunt driving.

Hrazdira was later released from custody and will appear in a Belleville courtroom on November 24. His car has been impounded for two weeks and his license has been suspended for 90 days.
